The Good Witch

The Good Witch is getting very excited for Halloween and trick-or-treaters.  We made up some really nice bags full of fun items to hand out this year in addition to candy.

My cousin, Brenda, sent Kelsey this adorable outfit.  Man, she must be a good shopper because it was the perfect fit for Kelsey and is the cutest thing ever.  Thanks, Cousin Brenda!

Last order of business is that Kelsey is still trying to get funds for her cherry eye surgery.  If you could please donate, even the tiniest bit helps and is appreciated more than you know.  We would also LOVE for you to share her story on your Facebook pages, Facebook groups, blogs, Twitter, etc.  We are more than halfway to our goal.  Just click on her Go Fund Me link to help her cause.
(Kelsey was adopted from a high kill shelter and has become my best friend ever.  We pretty much spend every minute with each other.  She started out so afraid of every person, every noise, everything really.  This summer, she went through training and has become my service dog (she still has some more training to go but has the majority of it completed).  Anyways, she has given me back so much independence and confidence.  I no longer have to rely on everyone else as much, because Kelsey can do so much for me.  So, if you would please pass along her GoFundMe link, I would be so happy.  If you would rather donate directly to her account at her vet, I can get you that info too).  Thanks so, so much!

Kelsey's New Look and Some Help Would be LOVED

What do you guys think of my new look?
I have been training very hard to become a service dog for my mommy.  I had to practice sits and downs for long amounts of times and even when my mom walks away.  We also have been working a ton on the heal command.  I am so good at all my commands that my trainer said I was ready for my vest.  Mom picked pink for me, of course.  I still have a little more work to do, but I am loving all the outings.

The bad new is that I developed cherry eye that would not go away despite eye drops and lots of eye massages.  So, now I have to have surgery to fix the problem so I do not end up with chronic dry eye problems.  Mom set up a GoFundMe page to help raise the money.  We would greatly appreciate all the support we could get since it's going to cost $975!  Mom's been home due to disability for a few years, so that's a big chunk of change for us.  If you can donate that wold be wonderful.  We would also appreciate shares of the page on your blogs, Facebook, Twitter, or anywhere else you can .  Thanks so much.  PS there are also some of mom's favorite pictures of me you can check out on that page.

A Little Overdue for Some Updates

Kelsey got all decked out for Independence Day.
She is such a great sport.

This was her official 4th of July outfit.  It is actually a little darker than it looks in the pic.
I just love this outfit on her.

It was so hot, so she didn't get to wear her dress very long.

This year, Kelsey got to watch the sparklers and then went inside during the noisy fireworks.  She was a little anxious when I came back inside (don't know if it was her separation anxiety, the fireworks, or both), but she calmed down within minutes.  I was very impressed with her behavior.

 sneaking in a little lizard-watching

 This one cracks me up.
She loves to pose for the camera.

And this one is my absolute favorite (and Grandma's too).  I just love the sweet look on her face and how the sun is shining so nicely on her.  We hope you are all doing well.

Here Comes Kelsey Cottontail

Kelsey is very excited for Easter tomorrow.
She loves hunting for eggs.

Can't you see how happy she is?!

This one just cracks me up!

Two Cute Pups...Just Chillin'

Poor Tucker was in severe pain and had to make several trips to the vet.  It turns out he has some calcification on his desks (poor baby).  So, Simon came over to get some spoiling while Tucker was resting and healing.  It was another hot day today, and these two sure knew how to keep cool.  Oh, and they both got baths (neither one was thrilled about that part of the day, but both behaved very well).

Good TImes

Simon came over a few times in the past couple of weeks to spend the night.  He loves going with us in the car.  At night, he insists on  being right with me and Kelsey the whole time.  The last time he came, he rolled over right onto Kelsey.  So cute!

Then, Kelsey got to go to the chiropractor (she's still having issues with what the vet thinks is a pinched nerve).  Then, we went and got her nails done.  She was such a good girl and got to take home a new squeaky.  The cashier gave Kelsey 3 free cookies to take home too!  You can see she was totally wiped out after that trip.
We hope you are all doing well.  We are already roasting in the California sun here.

Play Date

Simon and Tucker came over to spend the night with Kelsey and have a play date today.  Simon is so easy to take care of and is quite the snuggle bug too.

Tucker loves to demolish squeaky toys and play with his water bottle toy.  He decided that he wasn't going to sleep all night though (so we are all a little tired).

Dixie

We recently had to let go of one of our pups, Dixie.

We adopted her from the shelter when she was about a year old and lived to be 16 or 17 years old!

This picture shows her personality so well.
She loved hunting for birds in the yard.

I am working on gathering some of my favorite pictures of Dixie to share over the next few blog posts.  The pictures in this post came from a mini scrapbook album I made.

The Three Amigos

The Three Amigos
Simon, Kelsey, and Tucker

Update on Kelsey: Last week, Kelsey would randomly yelp when having her head pet.  In the morning, she just wasn't herself...she wouldn't snuggle like usual, acted fearful, and wouldn't put her head down.  Off to the vet she went.  The vet was very thorough and felt that she had a pinched nerve in her neck.  So, she got some meds, lots of rest, and an adjustment at the chiropractor.  The vet has called every couple of days to check on her (they are so nice and caring there).  She is back to her normal self, so our fingers are crossed that she is all healed.

4th Birthday Party!

Welcome to Kelsey's 4th Birthday Party!!!

We had yummy peanut butter pupcakes.

Quite possibly the happiest boy on Earth, Tucker.

Dixie celebrated from her home, but was there in spirit.

Simon and Kelsey were glued to each other the entire time.
Kelsey had a custom hat (made by Grandma and Mom) that matched her party plates.

Kelsey also had a custom banner (also made by Grandma and Mom).  And look at those ears!  That took a lot of bribery to get those ears pointed up, while sitting next to the dreaded balloons.

Simon was thrilled when it was time for pupcakes.

The boys gulping down their pupcakes.

Kelsey needed a little more space to gulp hers down.

Kelsey was very interested in her present from Grandma and Grandpa.

Simon helped Kelsey open all her presents this year.  He was very into the party.  Tucker was thrilled to have found one of Kelsey's toys to squeak until it died.

Kelsey posing with her hat and pupcake.  She is not a pro at modeling with hats, yet.  She always acts like they weigh more than she does.

I love how she had to help hold her pupcake with her little white "socks."

My smart baby had to go for the frosting first!
Kelsey had a wonderful day filled with family, treats, and presents.

Puppuccino

Kelsey, and Simon came along on some morning errands.  Their favorite stop is my mom's (Kelsey's Grandma's) favorite coffee shop.  If you ask nicely, they will give you a Puppuccino (a small cup of whipped cream for your dogs).  As you can tell, both Simon and Kelsey LOVED it!
Don't worry, they only get a few licks and it is not an everyday thing BOL.

Happy 4th Birthday!!!

My little monkey turned 4 today!  She had a very busy day too.  First, she got to hang out with Grandpa, Dixie, Simon, and Tucker. Then, Simon and Grandma went with us to one pet store for some birthday shopping.  She got spoiled there with some free birthday cookies.  After that, we went to the other pet store to get her nails done (a girl has to look good on her birthday, you know).  At the checkout, she got spoiled royally with even more treats.  The lady even sent me home with extras for later BOL!

Isabella Foo Foo's Bows made Kelsey the cutest birthday bow ever.  All the ladies at the grooming department loved it!  The above picture was Kelsey, hanging out on the back of the couch at Grandma and Grandpa's.  Later this week, she will have her official party, complete with more treats and presents.

A Trip to the V-E-T!

Kelsey did not believe me when I told her that
v-e-t spelled cookies.

Kelsey is a big chicken, but she did very well this time.  She wanted to be held, for the most part, but she actually asked to jump down and explore once we got into the exam room.

I was so pleased that even though she was nervous, she was brave enough to explore.  It is a big leap from the scared puppy that I adopted.

She listened carefully to any noise outside the door.  She was very timid for the vet, but did pretty well.  She didn't even flinch for her rabies shot.  Almost everything checked out well.  She has a pinpoint cataract in one eye that the vet says we will just watch (but the vet believes she was most likely born with it).  While waiting to pay, a lady found the cookie jar on the counter and got one while she was waiting for them to bring her pup out.  Kelsey got so excited but then was confused when the lady wasn't getting the cookie for her.  So, I had to get he a good girl cookie too (the dogs I grew up with would not take treats in stressful situations, Kelsey almost always will and it often helps loosen her up).

Had to share a funny pic.  Kelsey was not by my side when I was having a snack, which is very unusual.  When I looked down, she was on the coffee table, just hanging out, waiting for crumbs.  Sneaky little monkey!
And guess whose birthday it is tomorrow?!
We are very excited!

Maxed Out

If you look up maxed out in the dictionary,
this is what you would see.
