Happy Birthday!

Kelsey made a birthday wish before digging in.

 This puppy cake looks yummy!
Kelsey was so patient and such a good girl to wait until pictures were done to eat.  Le Woof Bakery and Boutique in Yorba Linda made her cake.  It turned out so cute and the puppies thought it was delicious.

Kelsey got to dig into the frosting before the other puppies.

Dixie had so much fun; it looks like she is smiling.

Tucker wore his pink party hat with pride.

There's always one clown in the bunch (Simon).

The cake was gone in seconds.

Kelsey opened her own birthday present (a pink, crinkly doughnut).

Kelsey's nickname is "monkey," which explains her birthday theme.  We got these fresh-baked dog cookies for her party favors (also from Le Woof).  Kelsey's Grandma made the cute toppers for the treats.

Kelsey had a special "pupcake" for her first birthday.  I love this picture.

I think this one speaks for itself.  She was one tired party animal.

It's coming...

Kelsey was adopted one year ago on February 5, 2010 (easy to remember 2/5/10).  We will be celebrating it as her first birthday.  She is practicing wearing her hat so she will be ready for her party this weekend.  She went with an adorable pink and green monkey theme since her nickname is "monkey."

I ordered her a doggie birthday cake so she can celebrate in style.  Her puppy friends and their parents are more than welcome to stop by for a piece of cake.  She is going to be so excited.  She loves food and she was great at unwrapping presents at Christmas, so I know she will have a blast.

Kelsey went three rounds in the Bissel MVP pet photo contest.  As of now, we are done with it.  I started noticing that it was no longer counting my votes.  I could actually log back in and vote again sometimes and it still wouldn't get counted.  Other people were having issues with their votes  too.  After this, the contest conveniently stopped showing the vote counter.  If they cannot run the contest properly and fairly, we will just have to look for a different photo contest since she is so cute and absolutely loves having her picture taken.  Besides, many of the winners were blind cats.  That makes for a great story, but it would not attract me to a vacuum cleaner box (they need cute animals on the boxes).  I am bummed that we won't be winning the money for our pet charity.  We were going to give the donation to the shelter where both Kelsey and Simon were adopted.
